Assists in planning, organizing, and directing assigned activities of the Facilities Department which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, utilities and grounds of the hospital in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
Supervises and directs the day-to-day work of Facilities Department team members.
Trains team members, plans and apportions the work to be done.
Manages the computerized work order management system including development of preventive maintenance schedules, work assignments and recording keeping.
Daily reports regarding the physical and structural conditions of the hospital facilities and status of work in progress are maintained and reviewed with the Facilities Director.
Trends and key opportunities for improvement are identified, and recommendations are made for improvement.
Exercises independent judgment on matters of significance, with the authority to effectively make employment decisions in the interest of the employer, such as interviewing and recommending for hire, evaluating performance, addressing grievances, and recommending disciplinary action including termination.
This is a working supervisor role, providing technical guidance and direct, hands-on support for HVAC/Plumbing trades including installation, repair, and other tasks as assigned, ensuring compliance with codes, department instructions, work schedules and quality standards.
Also, assist as needed for other related facilities issues.
